Iman is an international multidisciplinary designer and scenographer whose practice ranges from solo gallery works to collaborations in film, television, opera, theatre and experimental work. From creating large kinetic sculptures for the stage to historical realism for film, her goal is to give voice to stories and leave the audience engaged.

I tell stories not with what I choose to put on stage but what I choose not to. If an audience sees everything they expect of a design they will not question the design therefore, what is the purpose of the design?

Design should be more than just a location. I look at the details searching for evidence through research to produce conceptual ideas that best support an unexpected visual of  storytelling. I strive to create worlds in which the norms and values of society are questioned. Aspiring to stimulate and engage  the audience viscerally, psychologically, physically and irrationally.

My medium of expression is design.

Cross-cultural competence is my skill.

My stride is ever changing, my fear of creating boring artwork and my constant need for change and expansion have led me to an international career that defies the mundane.
